The Karpeles Manuscript Museum in Tacoma is part of the Karpeles Library, the world’s largest private holding of original manuscripts and documents.
The Tacoma museum, located opposite the beautiful Wright Park, is a stately imposing building where you’ll find more than 50 display cases with priceless pieces of history. Look out for different exhibitions throughout the year. The rich archives of the Karpeles Library nationwide are filled with papers covering varied topics from literature and religion to science and art. The archives include the original manuscript of “The Wedding March,” Einstein’s description of the theory of relativity, and even the Thanksgiving Proclamation signed by George Washington.
